Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated August 9, 2026.

Why this policy exists

Washington's My Health, My Data Act (RCW 19.373) requires businesses that process "consumer health data" about Washington consumers to maintain a separate privacy policy for that data specifically. This policy applies to Adorn Body Art's studios — including Adorn Uptown in Vancouver, Washington — and to consumer health data we collect in connection with our services, wherever it's collected.

What we mean by "consumer health data"

In our context, this means information that identifies a consumer's past, present, or future physical health status and that we collect to provide piercing, tattoo, cosmetic tattoo, or tooth gem services safely. Specifically, this includes information provided on an in-person intake or consent form, such as:

  • Known allergies or sensitivities (to metals, pigments, latex, adhesives, or anesthetics)
  • Skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, keloid history, and similar)
  • Medications or medical conditions relevant to healing, bleeding, or infection risk
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding status, where relevant to a service
  • Prior adverse reactions to piercing, tattoo, or cosmetic tattoo procedures

How we collect it

We collect this information directly from you, in writing, on an intake or consent form at your studio, immediately before your service. We do not collect consumer health data through this website, and we don't infer or derive it from your use of the Site.

Why we collect it

We collect this information solely to provide the service you've requested safely — to screen for contraindications, choose appropriate materials, and follow the right protocol for your situation. We don't use it for advertising, don't build a profile with it beyond your own service record, and don't use it to target you with marketing.

How we share it

We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. We share it only:

  • With the specific studio providing your service, and the staff directly involved in your appointment
  • With a medical provider, if you ask us to coordinate with one
  • Where required by law — for example, a state health-licensing inspection or a legal process we're required to comply with

We have no other categories of third parties or affiliates that receive this information.

How long we keep it

We retain intake and consent records, including any consumer health data on them, for as long as required under Oregon and Washington body-art licensing and recordkeeping rules, then delete or securely destroy them.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we hold consumer health data about you, and access it
  • Withdraw any consent you've given for its collection or use
  • Request that we delete it, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations

To exercise any of these rights, contact your studio directly — seestudio contact information. We will respond within 45 days, as required by law.

Consent

By completing an in-person intake or consent form, you are giving us your consent to collect and use the consumer health data on it for the purpose of providing your service, as described above. You can withdraw that consent at any time going forward by contacting your studio, though we may still need to retain records already created to meet legal recordkeeping requirements.

Changes to this policy

If we change what consumer health data we collect, why, or who we share it with, we'll update this policy and post the new effective date above.
