Terms of Service

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of adornbodyart.com (the "Site") and your relationship with Adorn Body Art's three studios — Adorn East, Adorn West, and Adorn Uptown (together, "Adorn," "we," "us"). By using the Site or booking a service with us, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site or book with us.

This Site is informational, not transactional

This Site doesn't process bookings, payments, or purchases directly — it's here to help you learn about our studios, services, and policies, and to connect you with the right studio by phone or email. Appointments are confirmed directly with your studio, and any deposit, cancellation, or rescheduling policy in effect at the time of booking will be communicated to you by that studio.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this Site — including our aftercare guide — is medical advice. It's general guidance based on our professional experience. If you have a medical concern about a piercing, tattoo, or cosmetic tattoo, contact your studio or see a licensed medical provider. Don't rely on this Site in place of either.

Age, ID, and consent

Every service we perform is subject to our Age & ID Policy, including Oregon's and Washington's prohibition on tattooing anyone under 18. Final, service-specific informed consent is given in writing, in person, at the studio — immediately before your service — not through this website. Reading this Site or booking through it doesn't substitute for that in-person consent.

Assumption of risk

Piercing, tattooing, cosmetic tattooing, and tooth gem application carry inherent risks — including infection, allergic reaction, scarring, asymmetry, color or placement variation, and differences in individual healing. Outcomes vary by body, aftercare, and healing process, and we can't guarantee a specific result. You'll review and sign a procedure-specific consent and risk disclosure at your studio before any service begins; these Terms don't replace that document, and the in-person consent form governs if the two conflict.

Right to refuse service

We may decline or stop a service, at any studio's discretion, if: required ID or consent can't be produced; you appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol; in our professional judgment the service isn't appropriate for your health or safety; or your conduct is unsafe, abusive, or disrupts our ability to safely serve you or other clients.

Photography and portfolio use

We photograph completed work for our portfolio, this Site, and social media — but only with your separate, explicit consent, asked for at the time. Declining doesn't affect your service in any way.

Gift cards and the jewelry webstore

Gift cards and online jewelry purchases are handled through our webstore atadornbodyjewelry.com, which is operated separately from this Site and governed by its own terms of service and privacy policy. Please review those before purchasing there.

Intellectual property

The text, photography, artist portfolios, and design of this Site belong to Adorn Body Art or are used with permission. Please don't reproduce, republish, or reuse them without asking us first.

Third-party links

This Site links to things we don't control — our webstore, our artists' social media, the Association of Professional Piercers, and similar. We're not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third-party sites.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Adorn Body Art isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Site. Nothing in this section limits any right or remedy that can't be limited under Oregon or Washington law — including rights tied to the in-person consent and risk disclosure you sign at your studio.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Oregon law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules — except that services performed at Adorn Uptown in Vancouver, Washington remain subject to applicable Washington law, including Washington's rules on tattooing minors and body art licensure.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as our services, studios, or the law changes. The version posted here is the current one — check back occasionally, especially before booking.
